ADAM AMOR
He describes himself as a 22 year old Mop head with a jumbo but that really doesn't describe Adam Amor at all as he is so much more than that, yes he is 22 yrs old, yes he has got a mop head and yes he does have a jumbo acoustic guitar but it's what he's been doing with that guitar for the last two and a half years when he first burst onto stages throughout Cumbria and Scotland.
With a voice that is distinct as a 12 foot chicken he brings along an attitude and vibe that is quite simply mint. Since his first foray into live music back in 2006 he has gone on to support bands such as Air traffic- The Displacements- The Steeples and lots more, but stating who he has played with and supported doesn't do him justice because what makes Adam stand out is Him, it's his Music and lyrics that have created a brilliant following, where ever he plays he manages to bring a bouncing exciting crowd to cheer, sing and dance along to his tunes not forgetting the wee crowd of foxes that come along.
He writes heart felt ballads and rip roaring tunes where you feel he is stripping away his outer shell and saying ‘look, this is me, love it, like it, hate it but whatever just enjoy' and it's this blunt honesty that makes you warm to him from the off, if your looking for some pretentious divvy then look some where else because Adam can't help you there.
Adam had been playing guitar for quite a few years but couldn't quite find the courage to conquer his stage fright that is until Janice Spedding, the mother of Adams best mate Lloyd Spedding stepped in and pushed him and encouraged him and quite simply told him he had to play. Sadly Janice died and Adam recited a poem at her funeral and it was then that his fright of performing in-front of people became a thing of the past, Adam explain's ‘after reciting the poem, that shook away my fears, and I preformed my first live gig after that, so if it wasn't for the support of my mate Lloyd and his mam's encouragement I would never have started' moving stuff eh, well thanks to Janice
Adam has just finished recording his self financed Debut Album which is called ‘A Hidden Hope', his debut Album which was recorded at Tom Tyson's The Music Farm was produced by Tom himself and Lee Shackley, the 13 tracks which are all self penned include some of his and my favorites, War Head- Song for Lloyd, Positively Strong and Timelessness.
Adam says ‘I would like to thank everyone who's clapped along, and I have appreciated the clapping hands,' with regards to thanks he says ‘I'd like to thank, Lloyd Spedding and Ste Murphy'. Adam who is also in newly formed band Go reckons 2008 is looking good, in fact he say's ‘ 2008 is the land of opportunity so let's (really) have it,' but he doesn't say (really), just think of Noel Gallacher who he takes a lot of inspiration from and I'm sure you will get his meaning.
Amor launches his debut Album ‘A Hidden Hope' in true rock n roll style with a party on the 7th March in Gallaghers bar Whitehaven, the line up will consist of an array of Whitehaven acoustic acts, entry will be £5 , each attendee will receive a copy Of ‘ A Hidden Hope' To find out more about Adam and where is he playing next then visit his website. www.myspace.com/adamamor
