Wildlife Photographer of the Year

 

 

The Beacon and Copeland Arts Development are inviting all Copeland residents to be inspired by The Beacon's most recent exhibition , Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2007. Copeland residents have the opportunity to take part in the competition by sending in their own wildlife photograph to The Beacon with a chance to win a prize worth £100.

 

The competition will be open to all Copeland residents and will be split into two categories; adults 16 years and over and children under 16. The photograph should have been taken by the entrant in Cumbria during 2007/8. Entrants can choose whether their photograph is colour or black and white.  Photographs must be at least 10" X 8" on matt or gloss photographic paper.

 

The deadline for entries is 12 noon on Wednesday 4th June.  All entries should be sent to The Beacon, West Strand, Whitehaven. CA28 7LY.  Winning entrants will be informed before a special prize presentation at The Beacon.  The winner of both categories will receive a cash prize of £100.  In addition, winners will also have their photographs posted on The Beacon website and the opportunity to take a photography masterclass with professional photographer, Rob Fraser.

The Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is currently showing in The Beacon's Harbour Gallery until Saturday 7th June.  The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, 10am to 4.30pm. Entry to the exhibition is free.
