New Exhibition In The Beacon’s Harbour Gallery

Posted: Mar 3 13:47

A new exhibition is coming to The Beacon from 22nd March until 26th April. Supported by the Cleaner, Safer, Greener Communities fund, Arts Council England North West, Home Group and Copeland Borough Council, this unique exhibition has been produced with the people of the Kells, Woodhouse and Greenbank estates over the last two years.  This programme of participatory arts involved local schools, youth clubs and community groups using a variety of artistic medium to explore the theme Space and Place.

In particular, the programme looked at the coastal strip and the ex-industrial sites around the area.

Professional artists involved in the programme are Del Whitticase, who has produced a video installation “Somewhere Between Falling and Walking” and Rob Fraser, who has produced a series of photographs for the exhibition entitled “Blue String Cross”.

The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Entry to The Harbour Gallery is free.
